This past week was quite uneventful. The Monday after Easter is a bank holiday here so we had off from work. It was a sunny (but windy) day, so we went for a 16 mile bike ride in the countryside. Aside from sore bums it was really fun.
We both got paid this week for the first time since we left our jobs in San Francisco, so it is nice to have a little bit of money in the bank again finally!
Yesterday we had people from Kelly's SF lab in town again, so we had a fun day hanging out with them. One of the people lives in a town 20 minutes from us, 2 were over from SF, and one came over from the Czech Republic to meet up with us all. We walked a lot around town and saw some of the colleges and some of the pubs. We also watched the big Oxford vs. Cambridge rowing race going on in London yesterday in a pub full of people cheering on the Cambridge team so we felt like we got them some local culture experience.
We went on a punt (wooden boat with a pole for steering) on the river Cam yesterday too. The current was too strong for us to punt ourselves so we had a guide, but it was a lot of fun. There was a bit of rain by yesterday afternoon, but thankfully no snow this week.
Today is a beautiful sunny day. I dropped Ryan off at work today because they have to go to an on-site job for the next 4-10 days, so it will be a quiet week here!
